Connect Homotope to Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini

Updated on

Add the Homotope connector to your assistant, at https://homotope.app/mcp, and sign in to your account: from Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini you vectorize an image and get the SVG, PDF, EPS, DXF and the cut-readiness check, as a server job that counts against the Pro quota, then credits.

What the connector does

From Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini, vectorize an image with Homotope and get SVG, PDF, EPS, DXF and the cut-readiness check. The assistant goes through Homotope’s MCP server, which offers six tools:

A job does not answer at once: the assistant polls its status, then fetches the result. The rights and limits are the same as the API’s.

What a job costs through an assistant

Through an assistant, every job is a server job: the image is sent to Homotope, and the job counts against the Pro quota (100 server jobs a month), then credits; there is no free trial this way. In the browser, nothing is sent.

A failed job is refunded. The formats of a finished job (SVG, PDF, EPS, DXF, separations) are included in the job. In the workshop, tracing happens in your browser, with no server job. Production exports (DXF, EPS, PDF, separations): 2 free per month with an account, unlimited with Pro; without Pro, 1 credit each beyond those 2. Prices are on the Pricing page.

Connect Homotope to your assistant

  1. In your assistant’s settings, add a custom connector (remote MCP server) at https://homotope.app/mcp. That is the only thing to type.
  2. The assistant discovers the sign-in on its own (OAuth 2.1) and opens Homotope’s sign-in page: sign in with your Google account.
  3. Homotope shows you what the assistant will be able to do (vectorize with your Pro quota or your credits, read your results; not your gallery, not your account, no purchase): authorise it, or decline.
  4. To cut access: “My account” page, “Connected applications” section (under “API keys”); its jobs still queued are cancelled and refunded.

Homotope is not listed in the assistants’ connector directories yet: the address above is all you need to add it by hand, with the same sign-in to your account.

For a script: the API key

A script or an agent that does not open a browser uses an API key (“My account” page, “API keys”) in the Authorization: Bearer header, on the same MCP server https://homotope.app/mcp or on the REST API /api/v1. The API documentation covers both.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded when I go through an assistant?

Yes: through an assistant, the image is sent to Homotope and processed on the server. To send nothing, vectorize in the workshop, in your browser.

How many jobs can I run through an assistant?

Pro includes 100 server jobs a month, assistants included; beyond that, each job takes one credit. A failed job is refunded. Prices are on the Pricing page.

Is there a free trial through an assistant?

No: the monthly free trial jobs are for the workshop only. An account without Pro or credits can connect, but its jobs are refused.

How do I remove an assistant’s access?

“My account” page, “Connected applications” section: “Revoke”. The assistant can no longer use your account, and its queued jobs are cancelled and refunded.

Do I need an API key?

Not for an assistant: it signs in to your account, with your consent. Yes for a script: the key goes in the Authorization: Bearer header, for the MCP server or the REST API /api/v1.
