Terms of use

The service

Homotope turns images into SVG. Vectorizing in the browser, the preview and SVG and PNG exports are open to everyone, free and need no account. An account (sign-in with Google) adds a gallery to save your vectorizations, production exports (DXF, EPS, PDF, separations) and server processing for very large images; beyond what is included each month, these are paid (see “Paid plans” and the Pricing page). Homotope’s code is published under the MIT licence.

Use

You may use Homotope for personal or professional purposes. The SVGs you produce belong to you, as do the images you put in: it is up to you to make sure you have the right to use them.

Prohibited content

Do not save unlawful content: anything that infringes other people’s rights (copyright, image rights), hateful, violent or child sexual abuse content, or any content prohibited by French law.

Storage and quotas

Each account has limited storage depending on its plan: 500 MB with the free account, 10 GB with the Pro subscription. If you change plans, nothing is deleted: above the limit, your gallery becomes read-only. We do our best to keep what you save, but no guarantee of retention is given: keep a copy of anything that matters (“My account” → “Export my data”). The service may be interrupted, changed or discontinued.

Paid plans

Vectorizing in the browser, the preview, SVG and PNG exports and the swatch library remain free, with no account and no limit. Two things are counted, and two features are reserved for the Pro plan:

Production export trial: when you create your account, production exports are unlimited for 7 days, with no bank card, once per Google identity (deleting and recreating your account does not renew it). The trial only covers these exports, the transparent background and recolouring: your account stays on the Free plan (server processing, storage, API). When the trial ends, exports go back to the Free plan’s rule: no automatic charge, and no subscription is ever taken out without your request.

Beyond that, two offers, described on the Pricing page:

Prices: prices include VAT and are shown in the app at the time of purchase; that price is the one that applies. A job uses the month’s trial first, then the month’s Pro quota, then your credits. A production export uses the month’s included exports first, then your credits; it is unlimited with the Pro plan.

Payment: payment is handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.), which receives your payment details under its privacy policy. Homotope never sees or stores your card number. Invoices are available from “Manage subscription”.

Right of withdrawal: at the time of purchase, the following notice is shown under the payment button:

By purchasing, you request immediate access to server processing and production exports and expressly waive your 14-day right of withdrawal for the processing and exports provided (Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code).

In practice: server jobs and production exports are digital content supplied as soon as you buy, without waiting for the 14-day period to end. By confirming the payment, you accept this immediate performance; the right of withdrawal therefore does not apply to the jobs and exports provided.

Interrupted or failed jobs: a job that is interrupted or fails, or is cancelled before it starts, is given back to you automatically (the credit or trial used is returned; a job from the Pro quota is not counted). A completed job, or one cancelled while it runs, is counted, as is a free trial job stopped because it exceeds its time limit (2 minutes) or the server’s memory. Beyond 3 technical failures (time or memory) refunded within 24 hours, a paid job that fails the same way is counted; your account page says so. Free trial jobs are counted per Google account: deleting and recreating your account does not renew them within the month.

Production exports: a production export is counted (included export of the month or credit) when it is produced; a production export once used is not refunded, unlike a failed server job. No other refund is made in the app: for any claim, write to [email protected].

Chargebacks: if a pack payment is disputed with your bank (dispute, “chargeback”), that pack’s credits are removed from your account, up to the remaining balance; jobs already run are not cancelled.

Gifted rights: the publisher may give you credits or a Pro period (goodwill gesture, testing, partnership). A gifted right is free, with nothing expected in return, and can be revoked at any time: the gifted Pro period ends and gifted credits are removed, up to the remaining balance. Your purchases are never affected.

Deleting your account: deleting your account immediately cancels the current subscription, with no pro-rata refund, and any remaining credits are lost.

Governing law: these terms are governed by French law. If there is a dispute, write to us first; failing an agreement, you may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator or bring it before the competent courts. This English text is a translation: the French version prevails.

API and MCP

With an account, you can create API keys (“My account” → “API keys”) to start server jobs from a script, a plugin or an AI agent, through the API or the MCP server (see the API documentation).

Referrals

Every account has a referral link (“My account” → “Invite friends, earn credits”). The current amounts are shown on that page before you share anything; they may change, and a reward already paid stays yours.

Teams

A Pro subscriber (the “payer”) can add seats to their subscription and invite people to them (the “members”). Seats are managed from “My account” → “My team”.

Suspension

An account that does not comply with these terms, or that puts the service at risk (abuse, mass uploads), may be suspended or deleted.

Liability

Homotope is provided as is, without warranty. Check the SVGs produced before any important use (printing, cutting, engraving).

Your data

What we keep and your rights (export, deletion) are described on the Privacy page.
